LDS Troop 21 - About us

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

This is the law we live by. It serves as a guide to our daily living. Are you ready to commit to live these values? Let our leaders and fellow Scouts encourage you as you choose this path...as you choose the right!

About Troop 21

Troop 21 is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Our church has participated in scouts for 94 years and we are the largest chartering organization in the Scout program, consisting of more than 400,000 Scouts and 30,000 Scout troops.

Our Scoutmaster is Aaron Harmon. Brother Harmon is the Young Men´s President in the Asheville Ward. He is new to our troop, and brings renewed energy and excitement to the program. He is employed as a construction superintendent. Brother Harmon considers his work in scouts to be "overtime." Instead of working with brick and mortar he works with youth and "builds" them into young men...and successful Scouts.

Richard Bowen is our ward bishop. He is a great supporter of Scouting, as his five sons have all participated in our troop. Three of these sons were able to obtain Scouting´s highest honor-the rank of Eagle Scout. Bishop Bowen stands ready to assist all scouts as they work towards this same goal.
